CSDHL AND CUHL (TRAVEL) TRYOUT INFORMATION
• CSDHL and CUHL (Travel) tryouts are directed by the Hockey Director and coordinated by the Hockey Committee and coaches at each level.
• There are up to three tryout sessions for each level. Each player must attend at least two sessions to be eligible for travel team consideration. Tryout groups are set and requests for changing groups will not be considered. All players will use a reversible navy/grey jersey. Returners bring your reversible jersey. New participants will be provided with one.
• Players may be asked to change groups from day to day throughout the tryout process. Using Peewee 12U as an example: All players will be assigned to a group before day 1. Players in consideration for the 2013 and 2014 CSDHL teams will be placed in those respective groups, while the rest of the players will be assigned to their groups for day 3 and 4. Players can be reassigned after each day of tryouts. All re-assignments will be updated in Crossbar.
• Any 14U, 15O, 16U or 18U (Midget) player may be advised during any of the tryouts that he/she should not attend the remaining CSDHL (Travel) tryout sessions. A player may also be asked not to attend a particular session so coaches can have more time to evaluate other players. This will allow all skaters to get a fair review by the coaches.
• Any 8U or 10U player may be advised during any of the tryouts that he/she should not attend the remaining Travel tryout sessions. These players are encouraged to attend JSHL (Jr. Sabre House League) evaluations. A player may also be asked not to attend a particular session so coaches can have more time to evaluate other players. This will allow all skaters to get a fair review by the coaches.
• Any 12U or 14U player may be advised during any of the tryouts that he/she should not attend the remaining Travel tryout sessions. These players are encouraged to attend NWHL (Northwest Hockey League) evaluations. A player may also be asked not to attend a particular session so coaches can have more time to evaluate other players. This will allow all skaters to get a fair review by the coaches.
• Players selected for a CSDHL and CUHL (Travel) team will be notified via Crossbar and by his/her coach within 48 hours after the final tryout session for the level. Not all players trying out for a Travel team will be selected to play travel hockey.
• The first team parent meeting that your coach schedules at the start of the season is mandatory for all families, with at least one parent attending. Please help your coaches get off to a good start by attending this meeting.
JSHL / NWHL EVALUATION INFORMATION
• Any 8U, 10U, 12U, or 14U player who does NOT make a travel team, will be moved to the JSHL / NWHL evaluations at no added fee.
• Players should attend at least 1 of the 2 evaluation dates to get a proper assessment for their team placement.
